Any form of investment has its risk – and I understand that. But looking back, some of the advice I got was borderline unprofessional and unethical. Long story short: I had initially signed-up for some investment plans through an IPP sales agent. Soon after, the agent wanted to convince me to transfer my years-old life insurance policy under him (framing it as an opportunity to ‘upgrade’ my policy whilst conveniently not mentioning that fess will have to be paid by me). Thankfully, I did not follow through on this. But the sales agent got all sulky and bratty with me after that – and was unhelpful when I needed after-sales service for the products I did sign-up through him.

To be clear, I’m not accusing IPP or companies like theirs of being a scam. But I would like others to know that these ‘professional advisors’ are just sales agents and may not always have your best interest at heart. Always research the investment products they want you to invest in before signing-up.
